Boiler Servicing & Repairs

Getting your boiler serviced is crucial to keeping it in good working order. Take a look at your boiler manufacturer instructions to find out how often a service is recommended. We advise getting your boiler serviced annually and it is a good idea to get this booked in ahead of the winter period, a boiler breakdown could leave you without heating and hot water when you need it the most.

What does a boiler service involve?

During the service we will make sure there are no faults with your boiler and that it is operating safely, efficiently and effectively, as required by the appliance manufacturer instructions. To do this we will carry out a range of checks and tests in accordance with the manufacturer instructions.

What to do if you experience a boiler breakdown?

There is no good time to encounter an issue with your boiler, but it is most likely to happen during the colder months after you switch on your central heating following a prolonged period without use. If you are experiencing boiler problems, contact us and we will come diagnose and repair your boiler.

What are the common signs of boiler breakdowns?

Here are some of the common signs which may indicate your boiler has an issue:

  • Intermittent heating or hot water

  • Kettling

  • Leaking water

  • Pressure loss

  • Boiler switching itself off

  • Pilot light switching off

What are the signs which could indicate that your boiler is unsafe?

Some boiler signs are particularly serious and could put you and your family at risk. These include black marks around the appliance, yellow or orange flames instead of crisp blue ones and the smell of gas. If you do notice any of these signs, do not use the appliance. You will need to get your boiler checked.

If you are buying a new home, we would advise getting your gas appliances checked before you move in, for peace of mind that your boiler and all other gas appliances are working as they should be.
